Knowledge Genie Launches

A few days ago I was given a pre-release walk-through of Knowledge Genie and must say that it is rather impressive. The creation of the Genie is an easy process and your ultimate Genie can be as simple, or as complex, as you wish. But what does it have to do with ebooks? There are a few things to consider:

1. If you have a “how to” book, it might be easier to sell a Genie than an actual ebook. It would not be a complex process for an author to re-cast his book in Genie form;

2. It would make an excellent companion to an ebook. For example, instead of setting up a website an author could set up a Genie that would give examples from his book or elucidate specific points he is trying to make;

3. I can see it being used for children’s stories, where the child can interact with the Genie as the story is being told.

Your first Genie is free and then it’s $24/month for 2 and it goes up from there. You can, by the way, charge for your Genie, and they allow you to put up your own PayPal or Google Checkout button. You keep 100% of the transaction It’s an interesting concept and one that an author should look at before committing to a solely ebook format.
